The 16-19 tuition fund is an additional allocation of funding that the Academy has received from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) for the 2020-21 academic year only. This fund has been provided to support students aged between 16-19 whose levels of attainment have been affected by coronavirus (COVID-19).
A summary of their best practice is as follows
Overall strategy area

Supporting parents and carers Access to technology Summer support
We have used our funds to support our learners using several strategies. Just under 30% of students in the Sixth Form would be classified as economically disadvantaged. We have used the funding to provide small group tuition in English, maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted. We are also investing in additional tuition to be offered to students as they prepare for their exams and to compensate for the disruption to learning over the last year. We recognise the knowledge deficits that learners will face as they apply for sixth form in 2021 and the additional support that they will need.
From 16 August, children under of the age of 18 will no longer have to self-isolate if they are contacted by NHS Test & Trace as a close contact of a positive Covid-19 case. Instead, they will be advised to take a PCR test. Please report any confirmed Covid-19 positive test results to our dedicated Covid Alert email address below: email@example.com
Please find below important information about the Year 11 and 13 results day arrangements and details for the start of the new term in September. On their return to school in September, all students will be given the opportunity to take two Lateral Flow Tests on school site. It is clearly in the interests of the school and its community that as many students as possible take up this opportunity to be tested on their return to school. As the students will be taking the new Orient Gene LFD test, we need to ask all families to provide consent for the testing, which can be done via the link below.
